Getting our shiznit together

Our leaving date — April 8 — is fast approaching, and we’re still plodding along, slowly getting bits and pieces of our logistics put together. We’ve arranged travel for the cats (they’re flying out to stay with Grandma and Grandpa K in Vancouver), arranged moving and storage for our stuff, got a set of big touring Ortlieb panniers, and made lists. Packing has also commenced in earnest. The living room and guest bedroom have piles of boxes all ready to go. We’ve got some more to pack up for both the moving container and shipping this weekend. Also some stuff we’ve intended to sell on Craiglist that we actually have to get around to posting up.

This week the REI dividends came out so we’re hitting up the store this weekend to stock up on gear. We’ll get stuff like spare parts, quick-dry underwear, waterproof socks, wool jerseys… hmm… not sure what all. It’s on the list, though.
